One product, many options
Variants let you sell the same product in several options — a t-shirt in S/M/L, a print in two sizes, a course in standard and premium — without creating separate products. Each variant carries its own price and its own stock.
Adding variants to a product
Step 1 — Edit the product. In the store admin, open Products and create or edit a product.
Step 2 — Add variants. In the variants area, add one row per option: give it a name buyers will understand (“Small”, “A3”, “Hardcover”), set its price, and set how many you have in stock.
Step 3 — Save. Your storefront now shows the options on the product page; the price updates as the buyer picks one.
Stock is tracked per variant
Each variant's inventory counts down independently as orders come in — selling out of Small doesn't hide Medium. Restock by editing the variant's stock number.
Tips
- Keep variant names short — they render as options at checkout and in the cart.
- Deleting a product removes its variants with it, so nothing is orphaned.
- Combine with your payment options and rich product descriptions for a complete product page.
